About Yash Shah
I'm a finance-minded technologist based in the Chicago area, working where cloud engineering, finance, and AI-enabled software delivery meet.
I didn't start as a fintech founder or an AI practitioner. I started as an engineer who liked understanding how systems actually run in production — databases, APIs, integrations, the unglamorous parts that determine whether software survives contact with real users.
Over time, finance became a second lens. Studying markets, valuation, and portfolio decisions changed how I evaluate tradeoffs in architecture: cost, risk, long-term value, and whether a system earns its complexity.
Today that combination shows up in two places. At work, I build enterprise integration platforms and practical AI workflows for engineering teams. Outside work, I ship Blanket Finance — a live investing research product where market data, product design, and engineering judgment have to work together.
I'm most interested in engineers and leaders who care about useful systems: scalable, observable, cost-aware, and connected to outcomes — not technology adoption for its own sake.
Engineering Philosophy
- Build systems that solve business problems, not just technical puzzles.
- Prefer practical architecture over over-engineering.
- Use AI as a teammate, not an unchecked replacement.
- Make cloud decisions with cost, reliability, and operations in mind.
- Connect technical decisions to product and financial impact.
